Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho Visits Brno, Czech Republic to Discuss Sister City Cooperation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho embarked on a 7-night, 9-day training program from August 23 to 31 to visit Czech Republic and Austria with the Mogmingwan Club.

This training program involves visits to Prague and Vienna, and focuses on the theme of "Going toward a livable city and a sustainable future city." It aims to explore sustainable and inclusive urban strategies, including ▲challenges created by rapid industrialization and urbanization ▲transformation of urban structure and philosophy in response to multiple crises ▲limitations and challenges of technology-centered cities ▲and people-centered future city strategies.

According to the city on the 24th, the training group plans to visit the Institute for Regional Development (IPR) in Prague, Czech Republic, the Czech Regional Development Ministry, the 22nd District of Vienna, Austria, the Smart City Strategy Bureau, and the Vienna Urban Innovation Institute (UIV).

Separately from the Mogmingwan Club schedule, Mayor Choi will visit Brno, Czech Republic to discuss sister city cooperation plans. At Brno City Hall, he will meet with Vice Mayor Philip Hvata and City Council Member Ana Putová to conduct consultations focusing on ▲academic exchanges with local universities ▲smart city policy cooperation ▲and initiatives to revitalize exchanges in culture and tourism.

Mayor Choi Dae-ho stated, "This will be an opportunity to learn sustainable development strategies from advanced European cities and apply them to Anyang's future urban policies. Through exchanges and cooperation with Brno, Czech Republic, I expect to inject new vitality into Anyang's development in smart cities, universities, and cultural fields."
