Intercity Bus Route 8135 Between Osan and Jamsil/Dongseoul Terminal Launches

[Suwon Ilbo=Park Chan-hyung Reporter] Osan City held an opening ceremony on the afternoon of the 15th for intercity bus route 8135 between Osan and Jamsil·Dongseoul Terminal, a long-cherished wish of citizens, and announced the start of service.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Lee Gwon-jae, National Assembly Speaker Lee Sang-bok, officials from KD Transportation Group, and approximately 100 others.

Intercity bus route 8135 begins regular operation from its first departure at 6 a.m. on the 16th from Osan Station Transit Center, serving Unam Jugong 5 Complex, Osan City Hall (Unam Jugong 4 Complex), Unam Jugong 1 Complex (Unam Middle School), Smart City Center (Segyo 1st District Complex 19), Education Support Office Intersection (Posco The Shop), and a bus stop on the Seoul Metropolitan Outer Ring Expressway at Gacheon University before entering Seoul, passing through Jangji District Exit 2, Garak Market (Garak Market Station), Jamsil Station (Lotte World), and terminating at Dongseoul Terminal.

This route 8135 service marks a reconfiguration of the previously suspended route 8136 originating from Songtan through Osan into a dedicated route exclusively for Osan residents. The city expects increased transportation convenience for citizens who have faced difficulties due to insufficient direct routes, whether commuting to Dongseoul or using Dongseoul Terminal to travel to destinations across the country.

Mayor Lee Gwon-jae stated in his opening remarks, "In our 100-year journey toward a self-sufficient connect city of 500,000 residents, the expansion of bus infrastructure holds significance beyond mere route expansion." He added, "We will continuously pursue transportation policies that create tangible changes in the commutes and daily lives of each and every citizen."
