Kang Seung-hui, Anyang City Joint Housing Management Team Leader, Passes Final Industrial Safety Instructor Exam

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Yu Je-sung] As the importance of preventing major disasters continues to grow and the need for safety professionals in the public sector increases, an Anyang City civil servant has recently garnered attention by passing the ‘Industrial Safety Instructor’ exam, the nation's highest-level qualification in the construction safety field.

According to Anyang City, Kang Seung-hui, Joint Housing Management Team Leader (Facility Grade 6) working at the Housing Division, passed the final exam for the ‘15th Industrial Safety Instructor (Construction Safety Field) Qualification Exam’ certified by the Ministry of Employment and Labor last month.

This is the first time an Anyang City civil servant has obtained the Industrial Safety Instructor qualification.

The Industrial Safety Instructor exam is held once a year and is considered a difficult qualification to obtain due to its low pass rate. Those qualified can ▲develop and guide hazard prevention plans ▲develop and guide occupational safety and health improvement plans ▲create and provide guidance on construction and civil engineering work plans ▲conduct safety and risk assessments for construction accident prevention, and can oversee various technical guidance and safety education related to construction safety.

The city expects Team Leader Kang's expertise to be actively utilized in safety management and disaster prevention activities at public construction and building projects in the jurisdiction, leading to the implementation of more systematic and professional safety administration.

Team Leader Kang Seung-hui said, "Based on the experience and professional knowledge I have accumulated in the field over the years, I will further strengthen safety management at public construction sites."
