Dongan-gu District, Anyang City Carries Out On-Site Administration through 'District Chief in the District' Project

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Yu Je-seong] Dongan-gu District, Anyang City (District Chief Hwang In-seob) is drawing attention with an unusual project called "District Chief in the District," implementing field-oriented administration rather than desk-bound governance.

District Chief Hwang In-seob announced on the 30th that on the 28th, as part of the "District Chief in the District" initiative, he conducted on-site inspections of residents' inconveniences reported to the dong administrative welfare centers and carried out a forest fire prevention campaign ahead of the autumn forest fire prevention period (November 1 to December 15).

Furthermore, District Chief Hwang is working in close cooperation with related departments, directly visiting sites of current issues across the district's 17 dongs, listening to residents' difficulties, and immediately implementing solutions on-site.

For example, District Chief Hwang In-seob visited a food alley in the private academy district around Guin-ro 191 Road, Guin-dong, an area where residents' inconveniences frequently occur, accompanied by related department heads. He inspected the area with frequent potholes and arranged for follow-up measures and periodic management by relevant departments.

He also visited Gwanak Mountain Forest Bathing Area to inspect the management status of initial forest fire suppression equipment and facilities, distributed promotional materials to hikers, conveyed safe hiking culture and forest safety rules, and promoted forest cleanup activities.

District Chief Hwang In-seob stated, "Just as we are quickly improving the pothole problem in Guin-dong that we inspected today, we are making every effort to implement proactive forest fire prevention activities and establish systematic response systems to protect precious lives and property," and added, "Going forward, we will do our best to create a safe and pleasant Dongan-gu through one step ahead inspection and preparation."
