Uiwang City Conducts Self-Evaluation of Autonomous Internal Control System for 2025

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Yu Je-sung] Uiwang City announced on the 23rd that it has conducted a self-evaluation of the 'Autonomous Internal Control System' which it operates to prevent errors and misconduct in administrative affairs and establish a culture of public service ethics.

The evaluation covered operational results from December of last year through November of this year and was conducted by comprehensively examining operational performance of three systems: △Cheongbaek-i △self-diagnosis △and public servants' self-management.

The evaluation results showed that the average score of 41 departments was 94.6 points, demonstrating a generally high level overall, and there were no underperforming departments scoring below 80 points. This is evaluated as a positive achievement showing that autonomous internal control is being stably established throughout the organization.

Notably, this year the city operated a 'integrity self-diagnosis management card' targeting all employees and expanded the scope of integrity education completion management from department heads to entire department staff, strengthening participation in integrity activities across the organization.

As a result, the timely processing rate and approval rate of 'Cheongbaek-i' increased compared to the previous year, and the effectiveness of the internal control system also improved accordingly.

Based on the evaluation results, the city plans to select and commend seven outstanding departments at the year-end gathering and next year will supplement evaluation methods and commendation criteria to encourage continued participation and improvement efforts by internal staff regarding autonomous internal control.

Audit Director Chung Kyung-ae stated, "Autonomous internal control is a system completed through the participation of all employees," adding "Through continuous monitoring and improvement, we will work to ensure the system operates effectively in administrative practice."
