'Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Settlement Team' Launches…Proclaims 2026 'Year of Zero Delinquent Taxes'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] The 'Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Settlement Team,' which tracks and collects local taxes and non-tax revenue delinquent accounts, has launched.

Suwon Special City held a launching ceremony for the Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Settlement Team at the city hall conference room on the 9th, proclaiming 2026 as the 'Year of Zero Delinquent Taxes.'

The Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Settlement Team, headed by the Director of Economic Policy, is comprised of 2 teams with 58 members: the 'Prior-Year Delinquent Settlement Team' and the 'Current-Year Delinquent Settlement Team.'

Each delinquent settlement team (small-amount, large-amount, and large non-tax revenue) establishes annual collection activity plans and operates intensive collection periods in the first half (March 1–June 30) and second half (September 1–December 31).

Activities include △on-site fact investigations △encouraging delinquent taxpayers to pay △impounding license plates of delinquent vehicles, and the 'Large-Amount Delinquent Settlement Team' conducts home searches targeting those with local tax delinquencies of 10 million won or more.

At the launching ceremony, two representatives of the Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Settlement Team read their 'Resolution for Achieving the 2026 Year of Zero Delinquent Taxes,' stating, "With the resolve to take responsibility for Suwon's sound fiscal management, we will track and collect local taxes and non-tax revenue delinquent accounts to the very end."

They also pledged to actively lead the way in realizing tax justice so that compliant taxpayers are treated fairly and to actively identify taxpayers facing financial hardship so they can receive relief.

The launching ceremony was attended by members of the Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Settlement Team and Kim Hyun-soo, First Vice Mayor of Suwon.

First Vice Mayor Kim Hyun-soo encouraged them, saying, "While tax collection may not be smooth sailing, your passion and capabilities will come together to build the foundation for Suwon's sound fiscal management. I hope we will definitely achieve the goal of collecting over 4 billion won in delinquent taxes for 11 consecutive years."
