'Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Collection Task Force' Launches... Proclaims '2026 as the First Year of Eliminating Delinquent Taxes'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] The 'Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Collection Task Force,' which pursues and collects local taxes and non-tax revenue delinquencies, has been launched.

Suwon Special City held a launch ceremony for the Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Collection Task Force at the City Hall conference room on the 9th and proclaimed 2026 as 'the first year of eliminating delinquent taxes.'

The Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Collection Task Force, headed by the director of the Economic Policy Bureau, is composed of 2 divisions with 58 members, including the 'Prior-Year Delinquency Collection Division' and 'Current-Year Delinquency Collection Division.'

The task force establishes annual collection activity plans by delinquency collection category (small-amount, large-amount, and non-tax large-amount) and operates intensive collection activity periods in the first half (March 1 to June 30) and second half (September 1 to December 31).

Activities include △on-site fact investigation △encouraging delinquent taxpayers to pay △confiscating license plates of delinquent vehicles, and the 'Large-Amount Delinquency Collection Division' conducts home searches targeting delinquent taxpayers with local tax delinquencies of 10 million won or more.

At the launch ceremony, two representatives of the Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Collection Task Force members recited 'Our Pledge to Achieve 2026 as the First Year of Eliminating Delinquent Taxes' and declared, "With the determination to be responsible for Suwon City's sound finances, we will pursue and collect local taxes and non-tax revenue delinquencies to the end."

They also pledged to actively lead the way in realizing tax justice so that faithfully compliant taxpayers can be given preferential treatment, and to actively identify delinquent taxpayers facing livelihood difficulties so that they can receive relief.

The launch ceremony was attended by members of the Suwon 365 Delinquent Tax Collection Task Force and Kim Hyun-soo, First Vice Mayor of Suwon City.

First Vice Mayor Kim Hyun-soo encouraged the members, saying, "While tax delinquency collection may not always be smooth, the passion and capabilities of all of you will come together to build the foundation for Suwon City's sound finances," and "I hope you achieve the goal of collecting over 4 billion won in delinquent taxes for 11 consecutive years."
