Yongin City Signs MOU with Yongin Pharmacists Association for 'Visiting Pharmacist Medication Management Program'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Choi Ki-ho] Yongin Special City signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Yongin Pharmacists Association (Chairman Kwak Eun-ho) for the 'Visiting Pharmacist Medication Management Program' on the 10th at the Giheung ICT Valley Convention Center.

The agreement is intended to ensure smooth implementation of the 'Visiting Pharmacist Medication Management Program,' one component of the integrated healthcare and long-term care service that will take effect from March 27.

The program is implemented to systematically manage the safety of patients who regularly take multiple medications simultaneously.

Under the agreement, the city will identify integrated care beneficiaries who regularly take multiple medications or are at risk of medication misuse, and provide budget support.

The Yongin Pharmacists Association will organize pharmacists to visit beneficiaries, check their medications, provide guidance on proper medication use and storage methods, and handle the collection of expired medications.

Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "Starting in March, integrated healthcare and long-term care services will begin, and now pharmacists will check through home visits whether citizens under integrated care are taking their medications properly and whether they have medication misuse issues, systematically managing medication use. Since this is work in which pharmacists systematically manage the health of citizens under integrated care, I believe it is a very meaningful activity."

The mayor said, "To ensure this program proceeds smoothly, the city will provide full support by selecting beneficiaries and providing convenience for pharmacist visits so that the visiting pharmacist medication management program can run smoothly."
