Suwon Special City and Suwon South Fire Station Sign MOU for 'Swift Response to Forest Fires'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Chung Jun-sung] Suwon Special City has strengthened its joint forest fire response system with Suwon South Fire Station (Chief Park Jung-hun) to enable faster and more efficient response when forest fires occur.

The city and Suwon South Fire Station signed a "Business Agreement for Swift Response to Forest Fires" at the city hall situation room on the 23rd and pledged to cooperate.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will establish a continuous collaboration system and enhance on-site response capabilities against increasingly occurring forest fires. Additionally, they have decided to strengthen their joint response system through △immediate sharing of situational information when forest fires occur and maintaining emergency contact networks, △rapid mobilization of personnel and equipment, and △joint training exercises.

Mayor Lee Jae-joon of Suwon and Chief Park Jung-hun of Suwon South Fire Station, among others, attended the signing ceremony.

Suwon South Fire Station Chief Park Jung-hun said, "I hope this agreement becomes an opportunity to raise awareness about forest fires," and added, "We will do our best to ensure citizens can live safely without forest fire damage."

Mayor Lee Jae-joon said, "I appreciate the fire station for working diligently and responding swiftly each time a forest fire occurs," and continued, "Thanks to the fire station's swift response, forest fires have not spread extensively." He further urged, "Moving forward, let's strengthen cooperation to prevent forest fires and protect citizens' safety together."
