Suwon Urban Corporation Implements Participatory Budgeting System to Incorporate Citizens' Voices

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Lee Min-jung] Suwon Urban Corporation (CEO Lee Young-in) announced on the 30th that it will implement the "2026 Participatory Budgeting System" starting next month.

The participatory budgeting system is designed to enhance budget accountability and administrative transparency through direct citizen participation.

Any Suwon citizen can submit project proposals or budget-related opinions through the website or by mail.

The scope of proposals covers outsourced project areas including parking, culture and sports, and welfare services. Large-scale investment projects and projects lacking public interest are excluded.

Submitted proposals will proceed through feasibility review, city consultation and budget reflection, and operational analysis and improvement identification.
