Anyang City Wins Excellence Award for Fourth Consecutive Year in Gyeonggi Province's Self-Audit Activity Evaluation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Yu Je-sung] Anyang City won the excellence award for the fourth consecutive year on the 1st at the '2026 Gyeonggi Province Self-Audit Activity Evaluation.'

The city has received consecutive excellence awards from 2023 through this year, further solidifying its status as a city of integrity.

Gyeonggi Province conducted an evaluation of self-audit activities for 2025 for 31 cities and counties in the province during February and March this year, and Anyang City received excellent ratings across major evaluation categories including ▲preventive audits ▲substantive self-audit activities ▲efforts to improve self-audit activities.

In particular, the city actively involved 'citizen auditors' from various fields in self-audits to realize citizen-centered transparent audit administration and operated a 'audit rights protection officer' system to enhance the effectiveness of self-audit activities.

The city also received positive evaluation for discovering irrational or unnecessary systems and making efforts to ensure that institutional improvements are actually implemented through follow-up measures such as corrections, improvement requests, and recommendations, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of audits and administrative accountability.

Audit Director Jung Gwang-jo stated, "Going forward, we will continue to enhance administrative transparency and credibility through preventive audit-focused audits and institutional improvements."
