Anyang City to Begin Accepting Applications for 'High Oil Price Damage Support Fund' from the 27th…Day-of-Week System for First Week

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Yu Je-sung] Anyang City announced on the 22nd that it will begin accepting applications for the 'High Oil Price Damage Support Fund' from the 27th of this month to ease citizens' living burdens resulting from the surge in international oil prices.

First, the city will operate the first application period from the 27th to May 8th, targeting basic livelihood security recipients, near-poor households, and single-parent families.

To minimize inconvenience to citizens, the city will operate a day-of-week system based on the last digit of birth year during the first week (April 27-30) of the first application period in accordance with guidelines from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The day-of-week system applies to both online and offline (in-person) applications.

Those whose birth year ends in 1 or 6 can apply on Monday, those ending in 2 or 7 on Tuesday, and those ending in 3 or 8 on Wednesday.

Considering that administrative welfare centers will be closed on Workers' Day (Friday, May 1), on April 30th (Thursday), the day before, not only those whose birth year ends in 4 or 9 but also those ending in 5 or 0 can apply.

During the second week (May 4-8) of the first application period, all eligible applicants can apply regardless of birth year, and on weekends, only online applications (through credit card company websites, apps, call centers, ARS, Toss, K-Bank, Kakao Bank, KakaoPay, Naver Pay apps, etc.) are available.

The second application period targeting the bottom 70% by income (including basic livelihood security recipients, near-poor households, and single-parent families who did not apply in the first round) runs from May 18 to 6 p.m. on July 3rd.

Applicants must be residents registered in Anyang City as of March 30th of this year.

For those wishing to apply online, they can receive payment through the Gyeonggi Regional Currency app as Anyang Love Pay (card type), or apply through credit card company websites, apps, call centers, and automated response systems (ARS).

For those wishing to apply offline, they can visit the administrative welfare center of their residential district to receive Anyang Love Pay (card type) or prepaid cards, or visit bank branches linked with credit card companies.

The high oil price damage support fund will be distributed to citizens in the bottom 70% by income at 100,000 won per person, while basic livelihood security recipients will receive 550,000 won, and near-poor households and single-parent family recipients will receive 450,000 won.

Anyang citizens who receive the high oil price damage support fund can use it at Anyang Love Pay merchants and small business operators with annual sales of 300 million won or less, excluding certain sectors such as large discount stores and department stores within the city, by 11:59 p.m. on August 31st.

Additionally, by using the National Secretary notification service, citizens can be informed in advance whether they are eligible for the high oil price damage support fund and the amount. Notifications can be requested through 20 mobile apps including Naver, Kakao Talk, and Toss, as well as the National Secretary website (ips.go.kr).

Acting Mayor Lee Gye-sam stated, "In a situation where citizens' living burdens have increased due to the recent surge in international oil prices, I hope this high oil price damage support fund will be of practical help," adding "We will make all-out efforts to ensure that eligible citizens receive support without exception."
