Guri City Corporation Launches Carbon Neutrality Practice Campaign
[Suwon Ilbo=Eom In-yong Reporter] Guri City Corporation (Acting President Kim Young-do) launched a carbon neutrality practice campaign to promote eco-friendly management practices and expand citizen participation in carbon neutrality culture.
The campaign was held on the 24th at Guri Station and Jangja Lake Park Station, providing guidance on registration and usage of Gyeonggi Province's 'Climate Action Opportunity Income' app to approximately 600 station users, and encouraging participation in carbon neutrality practices in daily life.
'Climate Action Opportunity Income' is a project that provides incentives to residents who practice climate action such as walking, using public transportation, and using reusable containers, supporting the adoption of carbon neutrality practices as a lifestyle.
On the day, the corporation distributed eco-friendly seedling pencils to campaign participants to encourage active participation, and also promoted online communication channels including Guri City Corporation YouTube.
As a public transportation operator, Guri City Corporation is taking the lead in reducing carbon emissions and practicing eco-friendly management, and plans to continuously pursue various ESG activities and carbon neutrality practice programs together with citizens.
Kim Young-do, Acting President of Guri City Corporation, said, "Responding to the climate crisis begins with small practices in our daily lives," and added, "Going forward, we will promote diverse carbon neutrality practice activities that citizens can participate in easily and enjoyably, contributing to the creation of a sustainable urban environment."
