Hwaseong Hyohaeng District Health Center Launches AI-Based Child Growth Prediction…'How Tall Will My Child Be?'

[Suwon Ilbo=Cheon Ui-hyun] Hwaseong Special City Hyohaeng District Health Center announced on the 24th that it will implement an AI-based smart health management project for children targeting 650 students from 4 kindergartens in the district.

The project involves measuring height, weight, and body composition of children during their growth period, and analyzing accumulated health big data using AI to predict their expected height, weight, and growth status when they reach adulthood. Based on the prediction results, the health center will identify health risk factors and provide customized health management support.

The health center will complete pre-measurement of body data by kindergarten through the 31st, and plans to hold a parent briefing session next month to explain the project's direction and health management methods.

The measurements will not be a one-time event. The plan is to regularly manage health data to continuously monitor children's growth and weight changes, help establish proper lifestyle habits from early childhood, and increase parental interest and engagement.

The health center plans to analyze the project's effectiveness and expand its scope and programs in phases.

A health center official stated, "This is a project we are launching for the first time in Hwaseong City," and added, "We plan to hold a parents' forum in September after observing parents' responses."
