Hwaseong City Labor-Management-Government-Civic 15 Organizations Declare '3 Zero' Initiative

The Hwaseong City Labor-Management-Government-Civic Council (Chairman Jeong Myung-geun) held a 'Labor-Management-Government-Civic Joint Declaration Ceremony for Sustainable Development and Creation of Smart Safe Environment in Hwaseong Special City' in the central conference room of City Hall on the 2nd.

The ceremony brought together 15 representatives from labor-management-government-civic organizations, including the Korea Confederation of Trade Unions Hwaseong Regional Branch, Hwaseong City Council, Gyeonggi Provincial Employment and Labor Office, and Hwaseong Special City, who made a commitment to perform their shared responsibilities and roles by establishing labor-management coexistence in the local community, strengthening industrial safety, and practicing ESG management as core tasks.

The joint declaration includes joint implementation measures aimed at realizing '3 Zero (Zero Discrimination·Zero Disparity·Zero Accidents)': △Establishing a proactive industrial accident prevention system based on smart technology △Practicing environment·society·transparent management (ESG) to secure future competitiveness △Building peaceful and rational labor-management relations in response to changing labor law environment.

The labor-management-government-civic organizations agreed to cooperate on introducing artificial intelligence (AI)-based risk prediction systems and smart safety equipment for accident prevention, and businesses committed to expanding investments in replacing aging facilities and advancing occupational health and safety management systems.

Additionally, they agreed to create an employment culture that reduces discrimination and disparity toward vulnerable groups such as non-regular workers and migrant workers, and to join forces in practicing carbon neutrality together with businesses and workers.

Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jeong Myung-geun stated, "Since Hwaseong is the country's largest manufacturing city, it is paramount to eliminate discrimination and disparity in industrial and employment sectors and prevent industrial accidents. Labor-management-government-civic organizations will expand the practice of '3 Zero' together to improve the dual structure of the labor market and lead industrial accident prevention, thereby creating a city where workers can work safely and businesses can grow," he said.
