Hwaseong Special City Launches Chuseok Regional Currency Cashback Event…Up to 20% Benefits

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) will hold a 'Regional Currency Chuseok Cashback Event' from September 14 to 23 to ease the financial burden on citizens' shopping during the Chuseok holiday and help increase sales for local small business owners.

During the event period, an additional 10% cashback on payment amounts will be added to the existing 10% regional currency recharge incentive, allowing citizens to receive up to 20% in benefits. Cashback will be provided when payments of 30,000 won or more are made using self-charged regional currency, with a maximum of 30,000 won per person.

The provided cashback can be used until December 31, 2026. However, the event may end early if the prepared budget is fully exhausted.

The city plans to establish a 'dual safety net for citizens' livelihoods' through this cashback event that not only stimulates short-term consumption during the Chuseok holiday but also continuously induces spending within the region, providing tangible consumer benefits to citizens and a stable demand base for local merchants.

Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myung-geun said, "I hope this cashback event will ease the financial burden on citizens preparing for Chuseok and provide tangible benefits to local small business owners' sales," adding "I urge your interest and participation so that a virtuous cycle can spread in which citizens' consumption leads to local merchant sales and revitalizes the regional economy."
