Osan City to Implement Road-Name Address Updates for Seals Register

Osan City announced on the 25th that it will carry out road-name address updates for the seals register (inkan daejang) that was previously recorded using lot-number addresses, following the completion of road-name addresses at the end of December last year.

The city plans to assign five local job community (youth) project participants to each dong to complete the road-name address updates for 119,000 seals registers that were designated for maintenance in bulk at the end of October last year, with completion targeted by the end of April.

The addresses undergoing this bulk conversion will apply to all seals registers except those of deceased individuals.

A city official stated, "Due to institutional issues such as non-notification, unclear information, and errors in resident registration road-name addresses, as well as the short timeframe for implementation, accuracy could not be secured. In order to preemptively address citizen inconvenience resulting from this and to ensure smooth project implementation, we decided to conduct preliminary training for seal administrators and conduct a comprehensive survey on data showing discrepancies between road-name addresses and resident registration addresses."
