Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH) announced on the 1st that it has applied non-slip coating to stairs in 5 buildings of aging purchased rental apartments.

GH conducted work at 3 buildings including Pajang Building on July 15 and at 2 buildings including Yeonmu Building on July 21. The buildings targeted for the work are Daeil Apartment, Seryu Villa, Yeonmu Villa, Pyeonghwa Apartment, and Pajang Building.

The targeted sites were selected based on three conditions: significant deterioration, no elevators, and a large number of elderly and mobility-impaired residents. GH identified the status through management offices and received applications for target sites. The work was carried out by regional maintenance and construction contractors.

After completing the work, GH also gathered feedback from residents. On August 28, GH visited Daeil Apartment and Seryu Villa to ask residents about their satisfaction with the work and any inconveniences in their daily lives.

Residents unanimously said, "It's great that the stairs don't slip even on rainy days." They also requested that similar inconveniences they experience in their daily lives be identified in advance and addressed.

Kim Yong-hyun, Director of Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation, said, "Based on this non-slip coating project and the results of resident interviews, we will work hard to prevent accidents among residents." He added, "We will continue to carry out field-oriented customer service activities to improve the residential environment."
