Promoting Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products and Innovative Schools Special Committee Conference

The Gyeonggi Provincial Council's Special Committee for Promoting Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products Distribution System and Innovative School Improvements (Chair Lee Sang-hee) held a conference on the 27th and 28th at Ockerville in Yangpyeong.

Committee members engaged in spirited discussions regarding the committee's operational direction and formulated plans to conduct field visits throughout the province in 2013, including eco-friendly agricultural product distribution centers, school meal centers, and innovative schools.

In addition, they decided to actively carry out committee activities such as holding roundtable discussions and forums with eco-friendly farmers and nutritionists, and requested executive officials in attendance to provide active support and improvement measures for committee activities.

Chair Lee Sang-hee stated, "We will intensively review and improve the eco-friendly agricultural products distribution system to increase income for eco-friendly farmers in the province, and will prepare improvement measures to ensure that residents and students receive affordable and high-quality eco-friendly agricultural products. We will also expand innovative schools, which currently number only 123 in the province, and present the best plans to resolve imbalances and achieve qualitative improvements so that public education can become a new source of hope."

On the 28th, they subsequently visited the Yangpyeong English Village and the Marine and Fisheries Resources Research Institute, received briefings on the current status, toured the facilities, and encouraged the relevant personnel.
