Yeongdeungpo-gu Maetan 1-dong, Outdoor Outing for Elderly Living Alone

The Maeyeoul Volunteer Group (Chairman Shim Sang-min) in Maetan 1-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu took elderly residents living alone on an outdoor outing on the 15th.

The Maeyeoul Volunteer Group has been organizing outdoor outings twice a year for elderly residents living alone. For this outing, they took 20 elderly residents living alone to Gapyeong's Morning Calm Arboretum to enjoy the beautifully turning autumn foliage.

The Maeyeoul Volunteer Group was established in March 2006 under the motto "People Dreaming of a Better World" to serve as a warm and heartfelt family community for elderly residents living alone in Maetan 1-dong. Members of the group voluntarily prepare meals and serve them twice a month, and provide pure voluntary services whenever needed, such as rice delivery, haircare, bathing assistance, interior painting, outdoor outings, and foot massage for tasks that elderly residents living alone find difficult to do themselves.
