Kim Yong-nam Announces Six 'Women Confident' Policy Pledges

Kim Yong-nam, Saenuri Party preliminary candidate for Suwon mayor, announced on the 8th six women-focused policy pledges under the theme "Women Confident," saying "I will create a Suwon where women can live with pride," including support for women's job retraining and expansion of childcare facilities.
At the announcement, candidate Kim pledged, "To support the job retraining of women whose careers have been interrupted by pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, I will expand specialized retraining programs and establish a comprehensive job support center."
He added, "After completing professional vocational training, I will actively facilitate job interviews for women and provide full support for startup, marketing, and technology development for female entrepreneurs."
Candidate Kim continued, "I will significantly expand childcare facilities such as public daycare centers for dual-income couples," and emphasized, "At the same time, I will expand the operation of a voluntary evaluation committee for childcare facilities composed of parents, civic organizations, and experts."
He also stated, "I plan to operate regional service centers to address employment issues and grievances of female non-regular workers and expand on-site sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention education to protect women's human rights."
Candidate Kim said, "To guarantee women's health rights, I will establish a women's health center and operate health checkup centers, health culture experience halls, and public postpartum care facilities."
Furthermore, he stated, "To ensure women's safe commutes home, I will significantly increase the installation of CCTV, street lights, and security lights in high-crime areas and double the brightness of street lights."
Preliminary candidate Kim Yong-nam affirmed, "Women's social participation can be expanded only when the conditions to balance home and work are in place," and pledged, "I will strengthen the public nature of childcare so women can work with peace of mind without worry about their children."
