Suwon Conducts Joint Crackdown on Taxi Traffic Law Violations

Suwon City conducted a joint crackdown on taxi traffic law violations with related agencies on the 16th to establish transport order for commercial vehicles.

The city deployed 13 personnel including police officers and taxi association members along with 4 enforcement vehicles to conduct joint crackdowns targeting areas with high complaints, including near the main entrance of Samsung Electronics and the Young-tong Central Shopping Complex, until dawn.

In particular, the city intensively cracked down on illegal taxi practices including extended parking, soliciting passengers, refusal of service, unauthorized ride-sharing, overcharging, following illegally, and operations outside designated business areas by taxis from other regions.

A city official stated, "Through periodic guidance and crackdowns on taxis, we will do our best to provide quality transportation services and minimize transportation inconvenience for citizens."
