Writer Kim Hun-dong Donates 2,200 Personal Books to Seongyeong Library

Poet and essayist Kim Hun-dong has donated approximately 2,200 personal books to Seongyeong Library in Suwon.
The donation ceremony, held on the 29th at the Suwon Studies Reference Room at Seongyeong Library, was attended by writer Kim Hun-dong, Library Division Director Kwon Hyuk-ju, and Seongyeong Library Director Cho Kyung-soo, among others.
Seongyeong Library will display the collection of books donated by Kim Hun-dong at a personal library corner within the Suwon Studies Reference Room.
Born in Suwon in 1944, writer Kim Hun-dong works as a poet, essayist, and columnist. His publications include "Just Now is Really Good," "Kim Hun-dong Works Collection 1-13," "I Become the Forest," "The Breath of Suwon Hwaseong Woven in Poetry and Painting," and "Beyond the Fortress Wall, Hidden Expressions of Suwon."
He has received numerous awards including the Model Book Collector Award, Suwon Literature Prize, Pride of Gyeonggi Province Award, Korea Essay Literature Award, and Korea Arts Council Cultural Award.
He has served as chairman of the Korean Red Cross Gyeonggi Province Chapter, president of the Suwon Writers Association, chairman of the Suwon Arts and Culture Organizations Federation, and director of the Suwon Municipal Art Gallery, contributing to the development of culture and arts in Suwon.
Seongyeong Library Director Cho Kyung-soo stated, "The personal collection donated by writer Kim Hun-dong is a valuable asset worthy of sharing with our citizens. We will systematically organize and preserve the donated materials and manage them so citizens can freely access them, utilizing them to broaden residents' cultural literacy."
