Jangam Station on Line 7 will close from October 2 through October 30 to construct a new station building in connection with the Dobongsan~Okjeong Metropolitan Railway project. As a result, Line 7 trains will operate only to Dobongsan Station, the station immediately before Jangam, during the closure period.

To minimize inconvenience to passengers during the closure, Gyeonggi Province will operate free shuttle buses connecting Dobongsan and Jangam stations.

The free shuttle buses will operate between Dobongsan Station Transfer Center, Dobong Depot Entrance, and Jangam Station stop from 5 a.m. to midnight. Service frequency is every 7-15 minutes on weekdays and every 10-20 minutes on weekends and holidays.

The closure is necessary to demolish the existing Jangam Station and construct a new station connected to the Dobongsan~Okjeong Metropolitan Railway. Currently, Jangam Station operates as a temporary station building within the Dobong Depot, and the Province installed a temporary Jangam Station next to the existing station entrance to continue train operations during the new station construction period.

However, before operating the temporary station, safety verification is required, including rail connection, relocation of signal and communication facilities, and test runs, necessitating approximately one month of service suspension at Jangam Station.

On October 2, the first day of the closure, the Province will connect the rail leading to the temporary station with the existing track. From then through October 24, it will relocate related facilities, conduct joint inspections, and complete supplementary work. It plans to verify the train operation system by October 27 in the same manner as actual commercial operations. After completing all inspections, temporary Jangam Station operations will begin on October 31.

Since September, Gyeonggi Province has been announcing the closure schedule and free shuttle bus service plans through station announcements, trains, and bus stops to reduce confusion among Jangam Station users.

Park Young-shin, head of the Railway Construction Division at Gyeonggi Province, said, "We are continuously informing citizens who use Jangam Station about the closure schedule and alternative transportation to prevent inconvenience. We will thoroughly complete safety inspections as planned to ensure safe use of the temporary Jangam Station starting October 31."

Meanwhile, the Dobongsan~Okjeong Metropolitan Railway is a single-track light rail project connecting a 15.1-kilometer section from Dobongsan Station in Seoul through Jangam Station and Topseok Station in Uijeongbu City to the Goeup District in Yangju City. The project will have three stations with a total budget of 893.5 billion won. As of September 2026, the overall project completion rate stands at 63.62%.
