Suwon Inspects 10 School Meal Suppliers in Surprise Checks…All Receive 'Excellent' Ratings

Suwon Special Metropolitan City (Mayor Lee Jae-joon) announced that all 10 school meal food ingredient suppliers subject to a surprise inspection received an 'excellent' rating.

An inspection team consisting of Suwon City's Dietary Improvement Team leader and food ingredient joint procurement officer, among others, conducted unannounced on-site inspections from September 15 to 29 of 10 suppliers (5 seafood companies, 4 kimchi companies, and 1 processed food company) participating in Suwon City's school meal food ingredient supplier recommendation project.

The inspection team examined ▲cleanliness and temperature control conditions at food ingredient processing and handling sites ▲product storage and expiration date management status ▲legal documentation and on-site sanitation management status ▲procurement and on-site management of raw materials and subsidiary ingredients.

A Suwon City official stated, "We will thoroughly inspect food ingredient suppliers' on-site management to establish a safe meal environment," and added, "We will manage supplier hygiene and safety conditions more rigorously."
