Kim Dong-yeon Visits Key Government Policy Sites Across Gyeonggi Province to Meet with Residents

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Kim Gap-dong] Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province is embarking on a livelihood economy field tour across the province to inspect key provincial administration issues and directly hear the voices of residents.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that Governor Kim will begin his tour from Pyeongtaek on the 20th and visit cities and counties throughout October to meet with residents at various sites.

Going beyond a simple visit, this is an initiative to visit sites related to local commerce, industrial facilities, and Gyeonggi Province policies, communicate with residents, and explore measures to revitalize the livelihood economy and policy directions.

Governor Kim will travel by special buses prepared for this field tour. The exterior of the buses will be wrapped with the phrase "Where we go, things change (Dal-Dal) – Gyeonggi Livelihood Economy Field Tour Bus". The special buses consist of two units: one for traveling between livelihood economy sites and another for residents' civil affairs use where people can chat and take light breaks. These will operate throughout the field tour period.

The province plans to hold a bus departure ceremony at 3 p.m. on the 19th in front of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government building to officially announce the start of the livelihood economy tour.

The first destination of the livelihood economy tour is Pyeongtaek. On the 20th morning, Governor Kim will attend the groundbreaking ceremony for TOK Advanced Materials Co., Ltd.'s Pyeongtaek Poseung plant at the Pyeongtaek Poseung Industrial Complex BIX Industrial Park. TOK Advanced Materials is a Korean subsidiary of Japan's TOK (Tokyo Ohka Kogyo), the world's largest company in photoresist, a critical semiconductor material. Through this groundbreaking for a key semiconductor material and parts production facility, Gyeonggi Province will take another step closer to its 8th Popular Mandate goal of attracting 100 trillion won in investment.

Following this, Governor Kim will have lunch at a restaurant frequently visited by employees of companies located at Pyeongtaek Port, then visit Naegi 1-ri Village Community Center, which operates as a heat-wave shelter, to listen to opinions from vulnerable populations during extreme heat such as village elders.

Afterward, Governor Kim will move to Pyeongtaek Port Marine Center for a roundtable discussion with automobile industry and parts companies. This meeting will address the difficulties faced by representatives of businesses in the automotive sector, Pyeongtaek Port's major industry, and discuss follow-up measures following the Korea-US tariff agreement.

After the roundtable, Governor Kim will visit Tongbok Market to personally shop and check livelihood prices, and discuss traditional market revitalization with merchants.

Governor Kim plans to start from Pyeongtaek and then visit major livelihood sites in Namyangju, Yangju and other areas of the province to spend time with residents.
