Chung Byung-guk: "Gyeonggi Province Leading the Republic of Korea"

Rep. Chung Byung-guk (Saenuri Party, Yangpyeong-Yeoju-Gapyeong) expressed his determination to run at an invitation lecture for prospective next local election Gyeonggi Province governor candidates hosted by the Gyeonggi Journalists Club on December 7th at 2 p.m., presenting "A happier Gyeonggi Province one hour more, Gyeonggi Province where workplaces and living spaces coexist."

On that day, Rep. Chung delivered a keynote address titled 'Gyeonggi 3.0 Era, Gyeonggi Province Leading the Republic of Korea,' presenting a new paradigm for Gyeonggi Province, facing a new millennium in 2018, to make a leap as the center of the Republic of Korea.

Rep. Chung then argued, "Much of the lives of Gyeonggi Province residents is being conducted around Seoul." In particular, he pointed out problems in consumption patterns by citing the reality that 17 trillion won, which corresponds to 36% of the annual card spending of 49 trillion won by Gyeonggi Province residents, is being used in Seoul.

He also stated, "The Gyeonggi 3.0 era should become 'Gyeonggi Province leading the Republic of Korea,'" and as a representative example, he unveiled plans for 'Gyeonggi K-Valley surpassing Silicon Valley' and presented a vision of creating clusters where research, startups, production, and sales flow smoothly, as well as creating cultural streets leading global trends.

Furthermore, to attract visitors to Gyeonggi Province, he proposed connecting 'Universal Studios Korea Resort' and 'DMZ Korean Peninsula Eco-Peace Belt' as one axis to develop it into a world-class tourism belt, and also revealed plans to expand tourism cities through cultural and arts cities and cultural and leisure programs.

Rep. Chung Byung-guk presented 'Peace of Mind Gyeonggi Province' through 'Creative Growth' and 'Quality of Life' as a new paradigm related to Era 3.0.
