Osan Central-dong Saemaul Women's Association Making 'Kimchi of Love'

The Saemaul Women's Association of Central-dong, Osan City (President Lee Hae-suk) held a 'Kimchi of Love' charity kimchi-making event in the parking lot of the Central-dong Community Center for two days starting on the 14th.

Organized by the Central-dong Saemaul Women's Association with approximately 60 participants including members of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, Cooperative Association of Heads of Neighborhoods, and Saemaul Leaders, the carefully prepared 100 boxes of kimchi were delivered to approximately 50 households including underprivileged elderly living alone, low-income families, and senior centers, along with wishes for them to have a warm winter this year.

This event utilized approximately 1,000 heads of Chinese cabbage that the Saemaul Women's Association cultivated through hard work on fallow farmland. With the difficult economic situation showing little signs of recovery, life is becoming increasingly challenging for underprivileged groups during winter, making this gesture of sharing kimchi all the more meaningful.

Lee Hae-suk, president of the Saemaul Women's Association, said, "I hope this event, though a small gesture, brings a bit of joy to our struggling neighbors and elderly who are spending a lonely winter in this cold weather." She added, "Going forward, we will continue to organize kimchi-making events and volunteer activities to build a happy community filled with warmth and solidarity with our neighbors."
