[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-seon inspected the dual riverside water-use project site on the Jinwi and Anseong streams on the 26th.
▲The (tentatively named) Pyeongtaek Sunset Park Development Project (around Gunmun Bridge in Pyeongtaek-dong and Peng Seong-eup) ▲Oseong Nuri Plaza Development Project site (around Pengseong Bridge in Oseong-myeon) ▲Gyopo Garden (Dangeori-ri in Oseong-myeon) were the main focus areas of the inspection.
Mayor Jeong inspected the sites of the ‘Oseong Riverside Renaissance Project Revitalization’ and ‘Pyeongtaek Southern Anseong Stream Levee Citizen Recreation Area Development,’ which are being pursued as pledges of the 7th privately-elected administration, and issued detailed instructions.
Mayor Jeong stated, “By creating water-use spaces utilizing the abundant riverside resources around the Jinwi and Anseong stream waters, we can provide lacking rest areas,” and urged, “I hope the project will be promoted promptly so citizens can conveniently use it as a leisure and recreation space.”
According to the integrated basic plan for dual-stream water-use established in 2018, the city plans to construct swimming pools, camping grounds, and sports facilities on approximately 300,000 square meters of high-water-mark land in the Anseong stream area of Pengseong-eup and Pyeongtaek-dong for the ‘(tentatively named) Pyeongtaek Sunset Park.’ For ‘Oseong Nuri Plaza,’ the city plans to create a park, observation deck, and water play area on 130,000 square meters around Changnae-ri in Oseong-myeon by 2022.
