Jang'an-gu Conducts On-Site Inspection of Jungja Market Facility Improvement Project
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] On the 24th, Jang'an-gu, Suwon conducted an on-site inspection of Jungja Market, where facility environment improvement projects including product display stand and signage maintenance are underway.
Jang'an-gu District Chief Lee Beom-seon, City Councilor Lee Jong-geun, and Merchants Association President Lee Jae-beom examined traffic flow for vehicles and pedestrians in the market passages and confirmed whether merchants faced any difficulties.
The Suwon City Regional Economy Division requested a consulting project from a specialized organization starting in October of last year to promote the facility environment improvement project. After gathering opinions from merchants and related departments, they prepared a basic plan and design proposal. Once an implementation plan is finalized, Jang'an-gu plans to review road occupancy permits for product display stands within a scope that does not interfere with safety and traffic.
Jungja Market, which houses some 150 stores, has been continuously implementing facility environment improvement projects, including the construction of a public parking lot last year and the establishment of convenience facilities such as a customer support center and restroom.
District Chief Lee Beom-seon said, "The environment improvement project to unify the design of market signage and product display stands is expected to help both residents and merchants by making it easier for residents to use the market."
Merchants Association President Lee Jae-beom said, "While there may be some inconveniences during the project implementation process, we seek understanding from residents, and we ask for your continued patronage to revitalize our local economy."
