Icheon City Opens Pre-Application Window for Water Supply Works in 2025

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Icheon City announced on the 20th that it will operate a pre-application window for water supply works before the end of the winter water supply work suspension period (Nov. 30, 2024 ~ Mar. 3, 2025).

The city suspended water supply works starting November 30 last year to prevent winter safety accidents and prevent poor workmanship. This measure is scheduled to be lifted next month, and the city plans to pre-accept water supply work applications before March arrives to prevent delays in construction due to a surge in water supply work applications during March intake.

Pre-applications for water supply works will proceed from the 20th, with plans to resume water supply works starting March 4th. To apply for water supply works, applicants must visit Icheon City's Water Supply Department or submit an application by fax, then consult with the person in charge regarding the location of meter installation and pay the water supply construction fee. After that, water supply works will be carried out sequentially from March onward.

The city has designated and operated water supply construction contractors from January through 2026 for water facility management and civil complaint handling, and is also responding swiftly to civil complaints day and night and on weekends for smooth and stable tap water supply.

In particular, during periods of harsh cold, a 24-hour response system has been established to prevent water facility freezing, and civil complaints are processed after swift on-site confirmation when water supply-related inconveniences occur.

Mayor Kim Gyeong-hee said, "Since clean and stable tap water supply is important, minimizing citizen inconvenience is also critical," and added, "The pre-application for water supply works is to realize proactive administration by minimizing citizens' inconvenience and processing civil complaints swiftly, and we ask for the active participation of all citizens."
