Icheon City Opens Pre-registration Window for Water Supply Construction in 2025

[Suwon Ilbo=Eom In-yong Reporter] Icheon City announced on the 20th that it will operate a pre-registration window for water supply construction requests before the end of the winter water supply construction suspension period (November 30, 2024 – March 3, 2025).

The city has suspended water supply construction since November 30 last year to prevent winter safety accidents and avoid poor construction practices. This measure is scheduled to be lifted next month. The city plans to accept water supply construction applications in advance before March to prevent delays in construction caused by a surge in applications when registration reopens in March.

\r\n\r\n

Pre-registration for water supply construction will begin on the 20th, with plans to resume water supply construction from the 4th of next month. To apply for water supply construction, residents can visit the Water Supply Department of Icheon City or submit an application by fax, then consult with staff regarding the location of meter installation, and pay the water supply construction fee. Subsequently, water supply construction will be carried out sequentially starting in March.

The city has designated and operated water supply construction contractors from January through 2026 for water facility management and civil service processing. Additionally, to ensure smooth and stable tap water supply, the city responds swiftly to citizen requests even at night and on weekends.

In particular, during periods of severe cold, the city has established a 24-hour response system to prevent water facility freezing. When any water supply-related inconveniences occur, the city conducts rapid on-site inspections and processes requests.

Mayor Kim Gyeong-hee stated: "As clean and stable tap water supply is important, minimizing citizen inconvenience is equally important." She added: "The pre-registration for water supply construction is implemented to minimize citizen inconvenience and realize proactive administration through swift request processing, and we ask for the active participation of citizens."
