Gwangju City Holds 'Mentoring Dialogue Session' for New Public Officials

[Suwon Ilbo=Eom In-yong, Reporter] Gwangju City held a 'Dialogue Session to Revitalize Mentoring Activities' on the 21st at the Sunam Hall in City Hall, targeting approximately 60 new public officials appointed since October of last year.

The dialogue session, part of the city's ongoing 'Mentor-Mentee Program,' was held to help new public officials adapt to their organization and strengthen their sense of belonging, and gained further significance as Mayor Bang Se-hwan presided directly over the event.

The event was conducted with a focus on senior public officials sharing their extensive experience and work expertise, and helping new public officials deepen their understanding of overall municipal administration through problem-solving activities related to city policies. Additionally, time was provided for new public officials to freely share their thoughts and diverse opinions for program improvement gained during the mentoring process.

Meanwhile, the city plans to continue implementing various policies to support new public officials' stable organizational settlement and capacity enhancement.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "I hope that communication with experienced senior officials will greatly help in understanding and adapting to organizational culture," and added, "I hope that you will also become reliable advisors and good guides to your junior colleagues in the future."
