Icheon to Launch Full-Scale Small Agricultural Machinery Support Project in 2026

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Icheon Agricultural Technology Center (Director Kim Dong-ho) announced on the 29th that it will launch a full-scale small agricultural machinery support project for 2026, including rotary cultivators.

This year, the city will invest a total of 766.67 million won (15% provincial funds, 35% city funds, 50% self-funding) to support farmers in purchasing small agricultural machinery with high utility value in farming operations.

In particular, the support unit price for rotary cultivators, which are most in demand among farmers, has been increased to 1.75 million won per unit, and tractor support has been expanded to a maximum of 60 horsepower, taking substantive steps to improve actual farming conditions.

Eligible applicants are agricultural operators registered with an agricultural business entity who have resided in Gyeonggi Province since January 1st of the previous year and cultivate farmland within Gyeonggi Province.

Supported items include walk-behind tillers, ride-on tillers, small tractors, motorized carriers, field crop threshers, electric pruning shears, electric sprayers, aerial work platforms, and agricultural product work tables—small agricultural machinery essential for farming operations. Support limits and detailed requirements by equipment type are applied according to standards.

The city plans to carefully manage the entire process from application through beneficiary selection to post-management to ensure transparency and fairness of subsidies. The most notable feature of this project is that it actively reflects field opinions and was designed to provide tangible benefits that farmers can actually experience.

Meanwhile, the application deadline is February 13th, and applications can be submitted in person at the administrative welfare centers in the eup, myeon, or dong where the farmland is located.

Icheon Agricultural Technology Center Director Kim Dong-ho emphasized, "We gave careful thought to what farmers truly need in the field," and stated, "The increase in tiller support unit price, expanded tractor horsepower, and addition of field crop threshers are the direct result of incorporating farmers' voices into policy."
