Osan City Expands Support for Childbirth and Adoption Incentives

Osan City announced on the 24th that it will expand incentive support for newborns and adopted children.

The city has amended the existing ordinance on childbirth incentive support to an ordinance on childbirth and adoption incentive support, thereby expanding the scope and range of incentive provision.

While the city had previously limited support to newborns, it has now expanded the program to allow adopted children (children under age 6 not yet in school) to also apply for support.

Additionally, with an investment of 725 million won this year, the city will provide childbirth and adoption incentives of 300,000 won for the second child, 1 million won for the third child, and 3 million won for the fourth child.

Previously, support was limited only to biological children, providing 500,000 won for the third child and 1 million won for the fourth child.

Regarding this matter, the city council held the 2nd regular session of the 181st Extraordinary Session on the 19th and passed a partial amendment to the ordinance with the above provisions.
