Gyeonggi Province Selects 18 Private Sector Professionals as Grade 8 Local Government Officials for First Time

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that it plans to hire 18 private sector professionals as Grade 8 civil servants.

The recruitment of private sector professionals includes 11 positions in Gyeonggi Province, 4 in Gimpo City, and 3 in Suwon City.

By job category, there are 4 positions in engineering (general machinery and electrical), 1 in agriculture (livestock), 4 in marine and fisheries (general fisheries), 6 in facilities (general civil engineering and architecture), 3 in broadcasting and communications (communications technology), and others.

Anyone with three or more years of work or research experience in the relevant field as of the final interview date (scheduled for December 11) is eligible to apply.

This recruitment of private sector professionals as civil servants follows Governor Nam Kyung-yul's announcement of a personnel innovation plan in April, in which he stated plans to hire private sector professionals and enhance expertise in the civil service.

Application submissions will be accepted from the 21st to the 23rd of next month through the Integrated Internet Application Center for Local Governments (http://local.gosi.go.kr). Beginning with the written examination scheduled for November 14, applicants will go through document screening and interviews, with 18 final successful candidates to be selected in December.
