Gwangmyeong City (Mayor Park Seung-won) has significantly expanded the 'No-Parking Zone' around exits 1 and 4 of Cheolsan Station on Line 7 to secure pedestrian environments and emergency evacuation routes for citizens.

The No-Parking Zone is a designated area that prevents bicycles and electric kickboards from being parked illegally, ensuring pedestrian space for Cheolsan Station users and reducing traffic inconvenience.

Last year, the city installed sign blocks in a 3-meter width by 3-meter length area in front of the station exit to create the No-Parking Zone. This year, it has been expanded to a 20-meter width by 3-meter length.

In particular, subway exits serve as major evacuation routes for citizens in emergencies such as fires. The city has secured a wider space in front of the exits to further strengthen public safety.

Additionally, considering the convenience of bicycle users, the city installed two-tier bicycle parking racks on the sidewalks near Cheolsan Apartments Complex 12 and 13 near the station. By guiding bicycle users to park in designated spaces, the city plans to reduce illegal parking around the exits and enhance the effectiveness of securing pedestrian space.

The city plans to install banners announcing the prohibition of illegal parking of bicycles and other vehicles and directing users to alternative parking spaces to encourage citizen cooperation.

Gang Sung-an, head of the Road Management Division, stated, "Subway station exits are public spaces used by many citizens and crucial evacuation routes that protect lives and safety in emergencies. We hope for active cooperation from bicycle and kickboard users to create a safe and pleasant pedestrian environment."
