Hwaseong City Develops AI-Powered Fast-Track System to Find Missing Persons

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-keun) is launching an initiative to find missing persons using artificial intelligence (AI).
Hwaseong City signed a memorandum of understanding on September 28 with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST, Director Oh Sang-rok) to develop and demonstrate a high-speed search system for missing persons utilizing advanced AI technology, committing to establish a foundation for urban safety response.
Mayor Jung Myung-keun of Hwaseong Special City stated, "Time is of the essence in searching for missing persons, so it is necessary to establish a more rapid and efficient response system utilizing advanced technology. Through this cooperation, we will develop practical measures to apply AI technology to citizen safety and work to advance the urban safety system that citizens can experience."
Through this agreement, Hwaseong Special City will structure urban data and apply AI analysis to significantly improve response speed to abnormal situations.
In particular, the city plans to implement safety services that citizens can experience in various fields such as missing person search, crime prevention, and disaster response, and to accelerate the leap toward an AI city by enhancing overall urban operation efficiency and policy response capabilities based on accumulated data.
Both organizations will focus on transitioning to a preemptive response system based on urban conditions through this agreement, shifting toward an AI city control system that enables comprehensive judgment of urban situations and real-time response.
