Last winter, heavy snow concentrated in the season caused branches of pine trees native to Paldalsan to break.

In response, Suwon Special Status City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) has created and opened the 'Renewal Forest Rest Area' using trees damaged by snow on Paldalsan.

Remnants of pine trees that fell due to heavy snow in the winter of 2024 were sorted and processed to manufacture 21 log chairs, which were installed on the 28th in a green space near Seongsin Temple on Paldalsan (55-22, Namchang-dong).

Information signs for the 'Renewal Forest Rest Area' were also installed at two locations to guide visitors about the purpose of creating the rest area and usage information.

Shin Hyun-sam, director of Suwon City's Hwaseong Project Office, said, "The Renewal Forest Rest Area, created using fallen trees, is a symbolic space where visitors can simultaneously experience the meaning of forest damage recovery and resource recycling. We hope that visitors to Paldalsan will take a moment to rest and share the value of resource circulation."
