Academy Shuttle Vehicles Patrolling Alleyways Address Safety Blind Spots

Academy shuttle vehicles traversing various parts of the city are being utilized as safety guardians. When dangerous elements are discovered during operation, police immediately respond to reports.
Gwangmyeong City signed an operational agreement for "Our Neighborhood Safe Patrol Cars" with Mayor Park Seung-won, Gwangmyeong Police Station Chief Shim Bo-young, and Gwangmyeong Academy Association President Lee Yun-geun at the City Hall conference room on the 30th for local crime prevention.
The initiative leverages the characteristics of academy shuttle vehicles, which normally travel throughout the neighborhood assisting students with commuting to and from school, to reduce safety blind spots in the area and establish a closely-knit safety network through private-public-police cooperation.
Gwangmyeong Mayor Park Seung-won stated, "Through close cooperation among the private sector, government, and police, we will carefully monitor hazardous elements throughout the neighborhood and build a comprehensive safety network that protects citizens' daily lives."
According to the agreement, the Gwangmyeong Academy Association will attach magnetic stickers reading "Our Neighborhood Safe Patrol Car" to academy shuttle vehicles and establish a reporting system for drivers to report any dangerous elements discovered during regular operation.
Gwangmyeong Police Station will support community policing activities, including providing crime prevention education for academy vehicle drivers, sharing information on crime-vulnerable areas, and establishing reporting systems.
Gwangmyeong Police Station Chief Shim Bo-young said, "We expect academy shuttle vehicles to serve as the eyes and ears of our neighborhood and contribute to crime prevention. We will maintain a system capable of responding swiftly to dangerous situations and protect citizens' safety."
Gwangmyeong Academy Association President Lee Yun-geun stated, "We will actively cooperate so that academy shuttle vehicles can fulfill the role of sentries monitoring community safety, going beyond being mere transportation."
