Electric cargo trucks up to 16.8 million won…Yongin City accepts subsidy applications

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) will provide purchase subsidies for new electric vehicles. The volume includes a total of 900 vehicles: 750 electric passenger vehicles and 150 electric cargo trucks.
The subsidy amount varies depending on vehicle performance and type, with passenger vehicles receiving up to 9.28 million won and electric cargo trucks receiving up to 16.8 million won in differentiated support.
Applications for electric cargo trucks can be made from October 30 onwards, and for electric passenger vehicles from November 6 onwards through the Comprehensive Zero-Emission Vehicle Website (ev.or.kr).
Among electric passenger vehicle purchasers, an additional 20% of national subsidies will be provided to first-time young buyers and citizens of low-income bracket status, and multi-child households will receive an additional 1 million to 3 million won depending on the number of children aged 18 and under.
Those who purchase an electric passenger vehicle and operate it as a commercial taxi will receive an additional 2.5 million won in support.
To receive the subsidy, purchasers must complete a vehicle purchase contract at an automobile dealership and then submit a subsidy application form and consent form. The subsidy application form and consent form can be downloaded from the city website (yongin.go.kr) and the Comprehensive Zero-Emission Vehicle Website.
A city official stated, "Expanding the distribution of electric vehicles is an important task for realizing carbon neutrality and improving air quality," and added, "We urge citizens interested in purchasing eco-friendly vehicles to submit applications within the designated period to receive subsidy benefits."
