[Suwon Ilbo=Eom In-yong Reporter] Icheon City announced on the 23rd that it will operate a '夜间税务咨询室' as a special initiative this year to enhance convenience for taxpayers such as office workers and self-employed individuals who find it difficult to report and pay taxes during regular business hours.
The night-time tax affairs consultation room will operate during specific periods of regular assessments and voluntary declarations from January through December, held at the Tax Administration Department's Tax Affairs Consultation Room on the 2nd floor of City Hall from 6 PM to 8 PM (2 hours).
Main services include: △Consultation on regular local tax assessments such as registration and license tax (license portion), automobile tax, property tax, and resident tax, and guidance on payment methods △Guidance on acquisition tax and registration and license tax (registration portion) reporting and payment methods △Reissuance of local tax notices and payment slips △Unpaid tax amount guidance, etc.
In particular, as the move-in of over 6,000 households in multi-unit housing is scheduled for this year, the city plans to minimize resident inconvenience through acquisition tax night-time reporting and payment consultation timed with apartment move-in periods.
The city expects that through operating the night-time tax affairs consultation room, it will distribute tax-related inquiries between day and evening hours to reduce waiting times and improve accessibility for taxpayers who have difficulty visiting during daytime.
Meanwhile, January will be the regular payment period for registration and license tax (license portion), and the consultation room will operate for 7 days before the payment deadline (Jan 27 (Tue) ~ Feb 2 (Mon)).
