The event was held ahead of Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) to help disabled drivers ensure safe travel home and vehicle operation. It was organized by the Automotive Repair Business Association Gyeonggi Province Yongin Branch (hereinafter Yongin Branch), with a total budget of 10 million won allocated, comprising 5 million won from provincial funds and 5 million won from municipal funds, for free replacement of consumables.
Mayor Lee Sang-il stated, "Despite the hot weather and it being a holiday, I express my gratitude to the association members who took time to volunteer ahead of Chuseok so that citizens can drive their vehicles more safely and comfortably."
The event was attended by approximately 80 members of the Yongin Branch and students enrolled in the Automotive Mechanics program at Yongin University of Science and Technology.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., they inspected batteries, steering and braking conditions, and other components, replaced consumables such as light bulbs, wipers, and air conditioning filters, and provided detailed explanations of inspection results to vehicle owners.
