Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) is accepting applications until September 18 for the '2027 Business Environment Improvement Project' targeting small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises and knowledge industry centers within the city.

The business environment improvement project supports improvements to labor and work environments, and fire safety facilities for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises and knowledge industry centers. There are four recruitment fields: △labor environment △knowledge industry centers △work environment △fire safety facilities.

The labor environment field targets small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises with annual sales of 2 billion won or less, providing support of up to 40 million won for improvement costs to dormitories, cafeterias, restrooms, shower facilities, and break areas.

The knowledge industry center field provides support of up to 60 million won for improvement costs to aging parking lots, restrooms, and public facilities at knowledge industry centers that have been completed for more than seven years.

In the work environment field, up to 20 million won is provided for improvement costs to workspaces, work tables, storage platforms, ventilation and dust collection devices, and conveyor work tables for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises with annual sales of 1 billion won or less.

The fire safety facilities field provides up to 70 million won for installation of alarm equipment and wireless fire detection devices, replacement of aged electrical wiring, and installation of partition walls in hazardous material storage areas.

The support ratio varies depending on the project field and the company's net profit, and participating companies must cover 20% or more of the project cost, value-added tax, and any amount exceeding the support limit. Companies that received support through the business environment improvement project within the past five years (2022-2026) and companies with tax arrears are ineligible to apply.

A Suwon official stated, "For companies to grow, safe and pleasant labor and work environments must be backed up," and added, "We will support facility improvements needed on-site to strengthen corporate competitiveness and growth foundation."
