Pet Dog Walks Transform Into Patrols…251 Teams Active in Suwon

The Suwon Pet Dog Patrol Team conducted a joint patrol on the 14th in a residential area of Ingye-dong with relevant agencies including police stations under the jurisdiction of the four districts.
Approximately 40 pet dog patrol teams and single-person household volunteers, along with around 90 personnel including officials from Suwon City's Safety Policy Division and crime prevention and response divisions from each district police station participated in the joint patrol.
Departing from Suwon Olympic Park, they patrolled areas surrounding Indorae Intersection and the residential area of Ingye-dong to check for potential hazards.
The pet dog patrol team's role involves pet owners and their dogs reporting when they discover people in need of assistance such as missing persons or intoxicated individuals during walks, or when they identify living safety hazards such as damaged fences or clogged drainage channels.
In May, Suwon City conducted a screening process to select 93 new pet dog patrol teams. Including the existing 158 teams, a total of 251 teams are currently active.
Kwon Jung-hee, head of Suwon City's Safety Bureau, said, "We are grateful to the pet dog patrol members and related agencies who participated in the joint patrol for regional safety," and added, "We will activate the patrol team's activities to create a safe city together with citizens."
