65 Public Libraries Transform into 'AI Learning Centers'...Professional Instructors Conduct Rotating Workshops

Sixty-five public libraries across 21 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province will now serve as spaces where residents can learn artificial intelligence (AI).
Gyeonggi Province held a launch ceremony for the 'Library AI Learning Center' at the Gyeonggi Provincial Library on the 15th and announced its vision: "AI for All That Everyone Can Enjoy, Together at the Library."
The 'Library AI Learning Center' is a project that links the 'Gyeonggi AI Digital Learning Center' initiative with public libraries in cities and counties to utilize public libraries, the most accessible destinations for residents, as AI education hubs. A mentor group composed of AI specialists will conduct customized AI education for users while rotating through 65 public libraries in 20 cities and counties in the province through December.
Education is operated at levels appropriate for different target groups including children, teenagers, general citizens, and seniors. The program is designed to enable learners to easily understand and experience various digital technologies applicable to daily life, including generative AI usage. Detailed schedules and educational content can be found at each city and county public library.
Yun Myung-hee, director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Library, said, "This is education prepared so that all residents can learn and utilize AI at their nearest library. We will continue to expand the library's role as a central institution that realizes the value of 'AI for All' in residents' daily lives and achieves digital inclusion."
Meanwhile, the 'Gyeonggi Province AI Digital Learning Center' is an educational initiative designed to support residents facing difficulties adapting to digital technology changes. This year, the province is operating customized AI and digital education programs for approximately 150,000 people including the digitally vulnerable, young adults, middle-aged adults, and small business owners.
