Uiwang City Holds Vision Declaration and Graduation Ceremony for Middle-Aged Adults' 'Act Three of Life'

On the 15th, Uiwang City held a vision declaration ceremony and graduation ceremony for the '2026 Uiwang Learning Rail Middle-Aged Adults Act Three of Life Stepping Stone Project' at the Gocheon-dong Lifelong Learning Center, where middle-aged citizens facing a life transition can establish and design new goals for the second half of their lives through self-understanding and career exploration.
The event began with a special lecture by Professor Kim Chan-ho from Sungkonghoe University on the theme of "Baby Boomers Have Entered Old Age." This was followed by a report on the progress of the educational program, distribution of certificates of completion and future life design books, presentation of graduates' visions, and a vision declaration ceremony.
The graduates shared the Act Three of Life visions they designed and took time to strengthen their determination for new challenges and action. Park Jin-young, who attended the graduation ceremony, said, "Before counseling, I was uncertain about what I could do again with my interrupted career, but now I have learned that all experiences in my life are assets for a new beginning."
The program, which centered on self-exploration and future planning for middle-aged adults, was conducted over a total of 71 sessions including workshops, small group counseling, and individual counseling from August 28 to September 30, with a total of 23 participants completing the educational program.
Kim Jung-ae, Director of the Lifelong Education Division of Uiwang City, said, "I hope this project will be a turning point for middle-aged citizens to reflect on their past lives and proactively design their future lives," and added, "We will continue to provide customized lifelong learning support so that citizens can discover new possibilities during life transitions and expand opportunities for social participation and self-realization through learning."
