Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il: "Enhance Completion Quality of Semiconductor High School Construction"

Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il urged on the 19th, "At a time when the semiconductor industry is gaining prominence, given that Yongin's Semiconductor High School—the only such school in the Seoul metropolitan area—will open in March next year, we must be thorough in our opening preparations."
At an executives meeting held in the City Hall video conference room that day, the mayor requested, "Proceed meticulously with the construction of Yongin Semiconductor High School so that there are no defects in the building in the future, and do your best."
The mayor emphasized, "To prevent any defects from appearing in the building after opening that would require repairs, conduct thorough environmental maintenance in advance and pay special attention to enhancing the completion quality of the construction."
In addition, the mayor stated, "The purpose of implementing performance evaluations is to highly evaluate and encourage the achievements of employees who perform their assigned duties creatively through proactive administration. Please make systematic efforts to operate the evaluation system so that more employees can come up with fresh ideas and provide administrative services that citizens can feel."
Meanwhile, Yongin Semiconductor High School, which will open in March next year, is located on the site of the former Namgok Branch School in Namsaeup, Cheoein-gu, and is scheduled to open in March next year with a capacity of 24 classes. Currently, structural and exterior finishing work is underway, with completion targeted for December this year.
In its first year, 2027, it will open as a specialized semiconductor high school, and from 2028 onward, it is scheduled to transition into a Meister High School. Applications for admission will be accepted from November 3 to 5 for the 2027 school year.
