Artificial intelligence technology company Maze (CEO Song Ki-seon) is launching an offensive into Southeast Asian distribution markets, leading with its in-house developed offline retail platform 'RIZE.'

Maze announced on the 21st that it has signed exclusive distributor and solution supply contracts with a global retail distribution partner covering six major Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Under this agreement, Maze will collaborate with L&C; International, which handles local distribution and business expansion, to advance the RIZE platform's entry into the Southeast Asian market.

Supply targets include the 'RIZE Edge' edge AI-powered device, the 'RIZE' retail intelligence platform, and related software products. Maze plans to build edge AI infrastructure in local stores and supply software licenses, while also phasing in subscription-based service models tailored to each store's operational environment.

RIZE is an ultralight edge AI-based solution that directly analyzes video data from devices installed in stores. It is characterized by its ability to track in real-time the composition and trends of first-time and repeat customers without requiring expensive separate cloud servers.

Based on analysis data collected this way, the system forecasts sales fluctuations and supports decision-making across overall store operations, including promotion planning, staff deployment, and inventory management.

While conventional video analysis solutions have focused on object recognition using cloud servers and aggregating visitor statistics, RIZE concentrates on completing video analysis on-site and providing predictive data that can be applied to actual store operations, according to the company.

Particularly noteworthy is the on-device processing method, which does not transmit or store video data on external clouds—identified as a key competitive advantage for Southeast Asian market entry.

In the Southeast Asian market, where internet communication environments and network infrastructure costs vary significantly by country and region, it is possible to operate solutions without large-scale server infrastructure. The company also cited the advantage of minimizing external video transmission, thereby reducing the burden of complying with regulations regarding personal data protection and cross-border data transfers.

Maze plans first to conduct technology verification (PoC) at major retail locations in Southeast Asia and establish technical support and management systems for local operations teams. Subsequently, based on verification results, the company aims to expand solution supply to major retail chains across the six countries.

The company is also accelerating intellectual property development to secure technological competitiveness.

According to Maze, the company has filed approximately 50 patents based on its self-developed vision AI ultralight technology, with a total of 17 registered—16 domestically and 1 in the United States. Recently, the company also completed U.S. patent registration for core store intelligence-related technologies.

Maze's strategy is to verify business viability in overseas markets based on technological application experience accumulated at major domestic landmarks and large-scale exhibitions, and to translate this into sustained revenue.

CEO Song Ki-seon stated, "This agreement represents a pivotal turning point in global expansion, as we have proactively established the foundation for exclusive distribution and supply of RIZE in six retail hub countries in Southeast Asia."

He continued, "Through close technological collaboration with our local partner, we will secure successful operational cases and establish high-efficiency edge AI without infrastructure cost burden as the standard in Southeast Asian retail operations."

CEO Song added, "The exclusive supply chain and business scalability we have secured in the global market will serve as powerful growth engines for the Series A investment we are currently pursuing."
