'Residents' Path' Becomes Landscape... Village Art Exhibition at Dongcheon Library Through 25th

At 'Book Forest' on the first basement level of Dongcheon Library in Yongin Special City, an exhibition of residents' village landscape works titled 'Pictures, Becoming Memories' will run through the 25th.
The exhibition, which began on the 20th, was organized by Dongcheon Library in collaboration with 'Art Platform Kkumjarak Cooperative,' a local arts organization. The works drawn by residents as they traveled through the neighborhood capture everyday memories.
The exhibition features works by 14 residents showcasing approximately 80 pieces depicting 30 major locations in Dongcheon-dong and Gogi-dong.
One citizen who participated in the exhibition said, "By drawing the village landscapes we usually pass by without thought, I was able to discover new charms of our neighborhood," and added, "I hope many people will take time to appreciate the works and recall precious memories connected to our village."
'Art Platform Kkumjarak Cooperative,' which planned the exhibition, is an organization composed of local residents who love art and engage in diverse cultural and artistic activities, operating various classes and cultural events.
A city official stated, "This exhibition is an opportunity to share precious memories of our village through landscapes of Dongcheon-dong and Gogi-dong directly observed and drawn by residents," and added, "We hope many citizens will visit our nearby library to appreciate familiar village landscapes as paintings and take time to recall precious memories in their everyday lives."
